The MSA 300 is STIHL's most powerful cordless chainsaw, designed for demanding professional use - with power equivalent to that of the MS 261 C-M petrol chainsaw. Three available operating modes enable optimum battery efficiency across a range of applications such as felling, delimbing and cutting to length.

The MSA 300 has a full electrical power of 3.0 kW, which is provided by the AP 500 S* battery. It allows for an adjustable chain speed of 3 different levels - 20m/s, 24m/s and 30 m/s. When combined with the Light 04 guide bar and .325" RS Pro saw chain, it has excellent cutting performance whilst retaining a reduced weight. The chainsaw is highly ergonomic and comfortable to use over longer periods of work too thanks to a compact, balanced design and the STIHL anti-vibration system.

The LED display allows for intuitive operation, giving the user notifications on chain brake position and power setting. Mounting point for the STIHL Smart Connector 2 A on the power tool housing. Other features include integrated cooling air filters, captive nut on the sprocket cover and an adjustable oil pump. Like most AP System tools, the MSA 300 is IPX4 rated meaning it can be used in all types of weather conditions. 

Working time with AP 500 S battery is up to 20-44 mins (working time depends on chosen speed setting).

*The MSA 300 must be used with the AP 500 S battery, the most powerful AP battery from STIHL, which features power laminate technology - meaning it has double the number of charging cycles of a typical STIHL AP system battery with cylindrical cells. Approximately 253 charging cycles per year (253 working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays in UK) means the battery will last close to 10 years without the typical capacity loss of the battery cells. Integrated Bluetooth® interface for STIHL connected allows the battery to be managed like a power tool.

INTUITIVE CONTROLS AND A BRIGHT LED DISPLAY

The MSA 300 features intuitive controls and a bright LED display. Three speed settings limit the chain speed to 20,24 or 30 m/s, meaning the user can maximise battery life when completing less intensive tasks such as snedding or brashing. Status of the chain brake and temperature warnings are also displayed in red.

SOFT GRIP CONTROL HANDLE

Thanks to the soft grip on the control handle, the chainsaw sits comfortably in the hand and can be operated safely. In addition, the users grip is improved by the soft material, which helps when using the chainsaw in wet conditions.

OPERATING MODES

ADAPTED TO YOUR WORK. This chainsaw offers you 3 different operating modes. In “Eco” mode, the chainsaw operates with reduced power for maximum battery runtime. “Felling” mode uses the highest possible torque at reduced chain speed, to help you saw as evenly and powerfully as possible. “Delimbing” mode gives you a very high chain speed for precise cuts. Use the activation button to start your chainsaw in your preferred mode.

FLEECE FILTER

The fleece filter in our new MSA 300 guarantees consistent performance – even in extreme conditions. Its extraordinarily finepored filter material keeps even very fine dust and dirt away from the power electronics and electric motor. To clean it, remove the fleece filter and spray it with STIHL Varioclean, briefly leaving it to work before rinsing out with warm water and letting the filter dry. Then it is ready to use again.

PERFORMANCE ELECTRONIC WITH DERATING FUNCTION

EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE MONITORING. The derating function offers you two advantages in your work: first, this function protects your chainsaw against possible overheating by reducing the current. Additionally, it notifies you by means of a reduction in power if you only have very little battery power remaining. In both cases, the function allows you to finish cuts that have already started without the engine switching off.

TWO-HANDED OPERATION

ENSURES COMFORTABLE WORK. Your STIHL chainsaw has an ergonomically shaped handle and a comfortable rear control handle with soft components. Thanks to this two-handed operation, you can work comfortably, effortlessly and safely in all positions.

CONNECTIVITY (READY)

COMPATIBLE WITH THE SMART CONNECTOR 2A. You can mount a Smart Connector 2 A in the housing of the power tool at the dedicated position. Once installed, this connects to the control unit and transmits valuable power tool data to your smartphone, tablet or the STIHL connected Box that is within range. You can use the STIHL connected App and the STIHL connected Portal to view the STIHL connected gathered data and benefit from additional functions.

EC MOTOR

MOUNT OR REMOVE THE MOWING HEAD AT THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON. With the Rapid Click System, you can mount or remove the mowing head at the touch of a button. With just a “click”, the mowing head is securely mounted to the tool so you're ready to work, or removed from the tool if it needs replacing.

STIHL QUICK CHAIN TENSIONING

RE-TENSION THE SAW CHAIN TOOL-FREE. Thanks to STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning, you can tension your saw chain quickly and without tools, thanks to the adjusting wheel. Turning the adjusting wheel to the left releases tension on the saw chain, and turning the adjustment wheel to the right tensions the saw chain. The guide bar will be automatically secured when you tighten the sprocket cover.

CONSTANT POWER

When using other brands of battery tools, the performance can sometimes decrease during work as the battery discharges. This isn't the case with STIHL battery-powered tools. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your tool will work with consistently high power across the entire battery charge, until there is no energy left in the battery.

IPX4 CERTIFIED

SPLASHWATER PROTECTION. The AP 200 S is IPX4 certified thanks to the encapsulated electronics and sealing of each individual cell. It means that the battery is protected against splashwater from all sides and can be used in rainy conditions.
